Manucurist Green Flash Pro Review
Doing nails from home has become the norm for many people during 2020. Some people chose to stick with at-home mani’s seeing that it can be cheaper than getting your nails done at a salon, and you can change the color and design as often as you like, giving you have the colors of course.
The problem is that there are so many different products on the market, it can be hard to choose sometimes. One thing that always stands out to me is if a brand is cruelty-free and ethically made. Buying products from a green-conscious company makes me feel like I have taken a step in the right direction to improve on my carbon footprint in this world.
Imagine my surprise and delight when I was contacted by a French company Manucurist. They are an innovative business with amazing ideas that they brought to life. They specialize in “green” nail products. How cool is that? They are the first company to create plant-based gels and nail polishes.

What makes Manucurist so unique
Manucurist pride themselves on using as many natural ingredients as possible and they avoid bad and harmful chemicals in their products. All of the items on their website are also vegan and cruelty-free!
Even their packaging is recyclable as they make use of glass containers for their nail products. They even thought about the packaging as the box and its contents are bio-degradable. The packaging chips are made out of corn starch, not styrofoam!
They extract their ingredients from sugar cane, Cassava, and cotton. The Green Flash range specifically contains no endocrine disruptors or any allergenic components.
They ensure that no sensitizing monomers or hydroquinone can be found in the products. And listen to this, the Green Flash is up to 84% bio-sourced. They pride themselves on having as little of an impact on the environment as possible.
I love the entire concept of this company and I hope that many others will follow in their footsteps to try and make a better future for everyone. Manucurist was kind enough to send me the Green Flash Full Pro Kit to try.
The Green Flash Pro kit
The kit comes with a gel base and top coat, nail polish remover, the 34W pro LED lamp, and one color of your choice(there are almost 40 stunning colors to choose from).
I was fortunate enough to be able to choose two colors. I chose the colors Old rose, and Pale rose. I have to say that I think Pale rose is my favorite and this will be the one I will be trying first. It is a beautiful nude-ish pink. I love painting my nails with subtle colors.
The packaging caught my eye as everything is made out of glass which isn’t something you see every day. The Lamp is beautifully matte and You get decorative stickers with it which I think is pretty cool. Along with the products you get a leaflet describing the products and the company respectively.
Applying the gel polish
Applying this gel is quite straightforward. They explain everything you need to know in clear detail. If you want you can view their comprehensive tutorial videos on their website. The goal is to leave your nails as undamaged as possible and everything you’ll need is supplied in the box.
If you want to go the extra mile I would suggest being a cuticle pusher of some sort as well as a nail file that can be used to shape and prep your nails before application.
Using cuticle oil after any type of manicure is also very important. Luckily manicurist supplies all of these products on their website. I have a guide on how to apply nail polish and gel polish respectively.
They do stress to paint very thin layers and it may take a couple of tries before you get it right but once you get the hang of it it’s quite easy.
Is it worth the hype?
The end product made me think of a harder type of nail polish. Note that the gel is not supposed to last weeks as regular gel but can last up to 10 days. It can be removed easily by using the nail polish remover supplied in the kit and doesn’t need to be removed with acetone.
Seeing that more and more people are starting to complain of contracting allergic reactions due to overexposure to nail products(especially now when more people are starting to do manicures from home), it’s great to invest in a product that is non-toxic and hypoallergenic. All of the products in this kit smells amazing too.
Overall I think it’s a great product and an amazing idea brought to life. They ensure that even with application and removal the damage to your nails will be limited exceptionally.
It doesn’t last as long as a professionally done manicure, but a big positive is that you’ll have everything you need to fix or redo your manicure from home when buying this kit.
